TVA stands for Throttle Valve Actuator. It is an electronic component that controls the throttle valve in modern vehicles equipped with drive-by-wire systems, where electronic controls replace the traditional mechanical throttle cable.

In a drive-by-wire system, the throttle valve's position is controlled by an electric motor, which is directed by the Throttle Valve Actuator (TVA). The TVA receives signals from the vehicle's ECU based on inputs such as the accelerator pedal position, engine speed, and other sensor data.
