The Battery Management System (BMS) or Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) is an essential ECU in modern vehicles, especially electric bikes (E-Bikes), that manages and monitors the performance of the battery.

It manages essential battery functions, such as monitoring voltage, temperature, current, state of charge (SoC), and cell balancing, in lithium-ion (Li-ion) LiFePO4 batteries. The voltage of these batteries can be different, like 48V, 16V, and 12V.

Its primary responsibilities include:

• State of charge (SoC) management to accurately track the battery's remaining power

The BMS (Battery Management System) reset refers to restoring the BMS to its default or normal operating state after it has detected an issue, such as a fault, crash, impact, or battery-related error.

This process is done by programming the proper file, calibration, or software (dump) into the BMS memory, EEPROM, or MCU.
